From the call to monitoring – everything your cronjobs need

A lot has been added to Cronjob.de in recent weeks. You create cronjobs with AI, read errors in plain words, get outages reported where you work, and keep an eye on jobs on your own server, too. From the first call to monitoring, you have everything with one provider.

  • running since 2003
  • servers in Nuremberg, Falkenstein and Helsinki
  • contract and invoice from Germany

All jobs are running on schedule.

  • Cronjob: we call your address

Sign in with a code from your authenticator app, and a REST API for scripts and AI agents.

Two-factor sign-in with an authenticator app

Free

Your authenticator app shows a six-digit code that changes every 30 seconds. You enter this code in addition to your password when you sign in. It appears only on your phone, not in your mailbox.

It works with Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, 1Password, Bitwarden and other apps. In case your phone is missing, you get recovery codes during setup. If you prefer the code by e-mail, you can keep using it.

REST API

From Unlimited

Cron jobs, heartbeats, server monitors, contacts and status pages can now also be managed over HTTP, for example from your own scripts, CI pipelines or AI agents without MCP. An OpenAPI description is included.

The key is the same token as for the AI connection, found under “AI access → Connect without a browser”.

Your AI assistant can now do everything your account can.

AI access: server monitoring, status pages, notifications

From Unlimited

Through the MCP connection, Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor now also create and evaluate server monitors, check SSL certificates, manage your alert contacts and your status pages. Plus “Run now”, “When to notify” and automatic retries for cron jobs.

If your assistant is already connected, reload the connection once so it sees the new commands. Team invitations still only work in your account.

Your own status pages for your projects, and the free heartbeat now alerts by e-mail.

Status pages with your logo

From Unlimited

Bundle the website monitors, cron jobs and heartbeats of a project into a public page on status.cronjob.de, with your logo and a link to your website. Your clients see whether everything is running, the availability of the last 90 days and the incidents of the last 30 days.

Only the names you choose are public, never an address or an error text. We suggest the entries by domain; during the trial you see everything in the preview, and you can publish with Unlimited.

cronjob.de now rescues short hiccups of your server on its own, and alerts can come via Telegram.

Automatic retry on hiccups

From Plus

If your server is overloaded, in maintenance or briefly unreachable (e.g. 502 or 503), cronjob.de automatically tries the call again: after 1, 5 and 15 minutes, from another one of our servers. If one of the attempts works, your cronjob still runs and you get no failure alert.

We only retry when your script certainly did not run, so never after a 500, a timeout or a redirect. No import and no newsletter runs twice. Switch it on per cronjob in the “Success check” tab.

Alerts via Telegram

From Unlimited

Failures and all-clears for cronjobs, heartbeats and server monitoring now also come via Telegram, to your chat or to a team group. Connect with one click under “Notifications”, no webhook address needed.

Failure alerts for cronjobs are now included from the Plus plan, and the call log also in the free plan.

Failure e-mail now from Plus

From Plus

If a cronjob fails, from Plus (€17.88 a year) you get an e-mail, already on the first failed run, and an all-clear as soon as it runs again. We report the start and the end of an outage. At most 10 failure e-mails per account and day; anything after that we combine.

Telegram, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Discord and your own webhook, the SSL certificate expiry warning and the option to report only after several failed runs in a row stay in the Unlimited plan.

Call log now free as well

Free

In the free plan you now see the last 5 scheduled calls of every cronjob with time, status and duration. Until now there was no log there. Whether a call went through or failed is visible at a glance.

From Plus it is 20 calls with the server’s response and the 30-day history; Unlimited adds the runtimes and your script’s output.

Create

A set of instructions or a single sentence becomes a finished cronjob.

Create a cronjob with AI

Free

Paste the instructions from your host, shop or CMS. The AI picks out the address, method and schedule, asks if something is missing, and fills in the form. You check it and save.

Schedule in plain language

Just write when it should run and you get the schedule along with the next dates. For an exception such as “except Sundays between midnight and 10 am”, we name two cronjobs that split the times exactly.

Expiry date

Cronjobs for a campaign or a period switch themselves off at the time you choose. Schedule and log are kept, and the AI also understands “until 15 November”.

Reliable calls

See what is running, understand what is stuck, and pause everything cleanly for maintenance.

Dashboard as a control room

Free

A timeline shows what is running right now and what comes next, and refreshes itself every minute. From Plus you see the result of every call up to 24 hours back and the success rate. Below it, a band shows every day of the last 30 days, with Unlimited of the last 90 days, plus the runtimes.

  • FreeTimeline
  • Plus+ results, 30 days
  • Unlimited+ runtimes, 90 days

Errors in plain words

From Plus

From Plus, every error is spelled out in words in the list, dashboard and call log, with advice on what you can do. If Cloudflare or another protection service stops the call with a security check, we recognise it and tell you how to set up an exception there.

Monitor and alert

You hear about a problem before your customers notice. Also for jobs on your own server.

Alerts where you work

From Plus

If a cronjob fails, we report it by e-mail, from Plus. With Unlimited also in Telegram, Slack, Microsoft Teams or Discord, or as a webhook to your own system. You connect Telegram and Slack with one click; for Teams and Discord you paste the webhook address. You get a message when the outage starts and the all-clear as soon as it runs again.

Notifications are newly arranged: Where messages go, What they cover, How often we report, and what was Reported last.

Server monitoring with AI setup

From Unlimited

We check every minute whether your site really works, and recognise error pages despite “200 OK”, empty pages and a missing add-to-cart button. You enter the address, the AI suggests the checks, and a second server confirms every outage.

Heartbeats

Free

For jobs on your own server, in n8n or in Laravel: your job checks in with us with one line after every run. If the check-in is missing, we alert you, and when it comes back, we send the all-clear. The graphic above shows how it fits together.

The code to add is available for Linux, PHP, Python, Node.js, n8n and many more. For Lovable, Bolt, Cursor and Claude Code you get a ready-made prompt for the AI. With /$? at the end, the line also reports the exit code: anything other than 0 counts as an error.

Monitor the end

From Unlimited

For cronjobs we call: one line at the very end of your script reports that it ran all the way through. So you also hear about an abort in the middle of the script. You switch it on in the cronjob under “Success check”, or in the list with the finish flag.

Check the response

From Plus

In the cronjob’s new “Success check” tab you set which text must appear in your script’s response, such as “Import complete”, and which must not. If the response differs, the call counts as an error. From Plus we also recognise typical error messages such as “Fatal error” without your own texts.

  • Freenot included
  • PlusError messages
  • Unlimited+ your own texts

SSL certificates

From Unlimited

Once a day we check how long the certificate of your addresses is still valid, and let you know in good time: 14 days before it expires and once more 3 days before. You find it under “Monitoring” next to the servers.
